让-菲利普·拉莫的最后一部歌剧《波列阿德斯》被一连串的厄运所笼罩，它等待了两个多世纪才终于得以演出。原本计划在1763年上演，却因诸多麻烦而推迟，最终于1982年在普罗旺斯地区艾克斯音乐节上由约翰·艾略特·加德纳爵士指挥上演。此后，又因手稿相关的重大法律纠纷引发了更多问题，而这一问题如今似乎终于得到了解决。这部法国歌剧杰作直到2003年才终于重回巴黎歌剧院的演出剧目之中。

Václav Luks - Rameau: Les Boréades (2020) [Hi-Res]
Entouré d’une malédiction persistante, le dernier opéra de Jean-Philippe Rameau, Les Boréades, a attendu plus de deux siècles pour être enfin représenté, une cascade d’ennuis ayant retardé sa création prévue en 1763 et finalement réalisée en… 1982, au Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, sous la direction de Sir John Eliot Gardiner. D’autres ennuis ont surgi depuis, à la suite d’un gros imbroglio juridique autour du manuscrit qui semble enfin résolu aujourd’hui. Ce chef-d’œuvre de l’opéra français est enfin rentré au répertoire de l’Opéra de Paris depuis 2003 seulement.
L’ouvrage a fait son chemin depuis, sous la direction de plusieurs chefs en France et en Europe jusqu’à Prague, où Václav Luks s’en est brillamment emparé en le présentant en version de concert à Utrecht, Vienne, Moscou et à l’Opéra Royal de Versailles, où cet enregistrement a été réalisé en janvier 2020. On admire le soin avec lequel Václav Luks dirige la riche partie orchestrale. Tout est précis, vif, coloré, charnel. Sa distribution aux personnages très incarnés est internationale et n’utilise que cinq chanteurs francophones sur les douze requis par cette vaste partition. Langue internationale de son époque, la musique baroque semble l’être restée de nos jours. Quarante ans après leur création tardive, Les Boréades ne sont plus une curiosité, mais un magistral point final de la période baroque française qui sera définitivement engloutie vingt ans plus tard sous les coups de la Révolution et la chute de l’Ancien Régime.
